A Collective Intelligence

Designer Kitchen Showroom Tour Cape Town TEG

The craftsmanship, innovation and creative discernment inherent in The Excellence Group translates into curated interiors with abiding appeal.

The Excellence Group was born out of a collective intelligence vision to offer clientele in the high-end residential and commercial sector, custom interiors that are beautiful, functional and enduring. Over the course of nearly a decade, entrepreneur and founder Richard Lurie saw this vision materialise as he established a collection of specialist interior companies. The Excellence Group was created to realise the benefits of such a collective early on, the most significant being that clients need only deal with a single reputable entity that provides a broad scope of bespoke solutions to luxury-living requirements.

The shared skills and resources on the table, so to speak, come in the form of five companies in the group: luxury-kitchen designers Valcucine, Italian kitchen designers and importers Eurocasa, local joinery (Cape Town) company Spotlight Joinery, the full-service ‘nothing-is-merely-flat’ Infin8 Surfacing, and Craft Furniture, whose flair for interpretation knows little limit.

The Excellence Group provides each of its dynamic and specialist high-end commercial and home-design companies with strategic support (including business and leadership solutions), efficiencies of scale and centralised administrative and systems back-up. This allows a true collective synergy in the form of shared clients and resources, the leverage inherent in group purchasing power and the strength of an all-embracing brand.

A case for a High End Residential Group

The kind of turnkey solutions offered by The Excellence Group are best illustrated by a recent project undertaken at a home on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town. It was overseen by international and local architects and designers. Initially, Spotlight Joinery was tasked with creating custom joinery for the designer home. A wholly bespoke solution was required for the main kitchen, cinema, ceiling and wall panelling and balustrades, among others. Such minute detail was required – and achieved – that the final bespoke design will be unique to that home. Then Eurocasa came onboard to fit the chef’s scullery, as well as its adjoining breakroom. The space boasts a number of functional areas that seamlessly allow for flow, storage, prepping and easy plating. Custom-made furniture was the domain of Craft Furniture whose stand-out piece was a one-of-a-kind 50mm thick, 4.2-metre dining table. In conclusion, Infin8 Surfacing leant their skill to cladding the steel columns in the living room, giving the area a soft, seamless air.

American architect Nate Berkus said, ‘Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love.’ The assemblage of skills within The Excellence Group reflects this notion wholeheartedly. The group upholds its values in the form of five pillars of excellence – product quality, client experience, financial stability, stringent process and being an employer of choice. In combination, this approach offers clients the assurance that they are working with a leading, stable and dynamic collection of businesses. And one that will bring to life their imagined dream home.
